SUBMIT DATA

Alliance CMExchange: Guidelines for Submission of Needs Assessment and Outcomes Evaluation Data and Tools.

The mission of CMExchange is to provide open access for healthcare workers and related parties to assessment data that will serve as a point of reference and as a basis for future educational planning.

Assessment project summaries will be reviewed by the Advisory Committee of CMExchange. Those accepted will be posted to the CMExchange site at www.CMExchange.org

Please submit assessment project summaries to CMExchange by email in a Word document to: submission@cmexchange.org

You will be notified via email as to the status of your submission within two weeks after receipt. Please contact the CMExchange web site with any questions. Please provide the following:

TITLE PAGE (1 page)

  • Title
  • Contact information including name of person submitting, institution, email address, phone number and mailing address

ABSTRACT (1 page)

  • A brief description of the project including project description, target audience, methods, results, and implications for future education.
  • Does not exceed 250 words.
  • Key words allow user-friendly searching for the project within the database.

PROJECT CONTENT SUBMISSION (4 pages)

Project Description

  • Goal of the Project identified.
  • Disease State, or Health Problem described.
  • Physician Competencies addressed (patient care, medical knowledge, practice-based learning and improvement, interpersonal and communication skills, professionalism, systems-based practice.
  • Level of Educational Outcomes intended (participation, satisfaction, knowledge/skill/attitude, competence, performance, patient health, population health).
  • Commercial, or other financial, support identified.

Target Audience

  • Identified group. or groups, of healthcare professionals targeted for the project including demographic information.

Methodology (Process)

  • Description of the type of study design used in the assessment. Study design content includes needs identification process, objective identification process, intervention process and educational evaluation process.
  • Sample size of the project.
  • Statistical Procedure used to evaluate the data.
  • Evidence used to validate methods and instruments used.
  • If appropriate, Institutional Review Board participation.

Results (Outcomes)

  • Summary of data results for project.
  • Brief discussion of the results.

Implications for future education

  • Limitations of the project.
  • Benefits of the project for future educational activities.

APPENDIX (1-4 pages – Optional, but Recommended)

  • Include actual data collection instrument for Needs Assessment and/or Educational Outcomes Measurement.
